Mikumi National Park Itinerary

Tucked away in the heart of southern Tanzania, Mikumi National Park is a land where the wild runs free and the sky stretches wide. Here, golden savannahs roll beneath the gaze of distant mountains, and wildlife roams in timeless rhythm — untouched, undisturbed.

DAY 4: Transfer to SGR station for Morogoro town/transfer to Mikumi National Park

Travel from Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park.

Our new adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Zanzibar, where you will be transferred to the ferry to Dar es Salaam and to the train station for your journey to Morogoro. Departing at 4:00 PM, the train ride offers stunning views of the Tanzanian countryside as you make your way to Morogoro, arriving at approximately 6:00 PM. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred to Mikumi National Park, where your safari experience will begin the next day.

DAY 5: Full-Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

After an early breakfast, you will set out for a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park, one of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife reserves. The park is home to a rich variety of animals, including large herds of buffalo, elephants, and the iconic big cats.

Your guide will take you through different areas of the park, ensuring you have the best chances of spotting wildlife and capturing incredible photographs. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. As the sun sets, you will return to your lodge for a hearty dinner and another relaxing overnight stay.

DAY 6: Transfer back to Dar es Salaam

Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam

On your final day, you will have an early morning transfer from Camp Bastian at 6:00 AM to the train station in Morogoro. At 9:50 AM, you will board the train back to Dar es Salaam, enjoying the scenic journey once again.

Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, your tour comes to an end, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your Mikumi safari adventure.
